Kinship Policies E-mail
As a family oriented kin, we realize real life (rl) family stuff comes first before the game, so we are patient with interruptions caused by family. We have a great kin here that is friendly and willing to help out others whenever they can. So we ask that if you would like to join us, you must be willing to do the same.

Kin policies

Member Behavior

All members are expected to maintain positive behavior during their time in LOTRO.

- First, you are a representative of our kinship. When talking in chat, speaking on Ventrillo, or using in-game voice chat make sure you are kind, tactful and respectful to all players. Any topic insulting to any race/religion/orientation/affiliation is totally unacceptable. Try to keep things PG. As a family kin, it must be understood that even if there are no kids online at that moment, they might be reading over our shoulder, or overhearing voice chat.

- Second, kin members should not generally charge other kin members to make something for them although they should be supplied all the mats and/or compensated for them if you can not provide them.

- Third, kin members should maintain responsible behavior in groups. Whether an all Kin group or a PUG, all kin members must act in a way that reflects well on the kin. One of the main things to be careful of, is "Loot Rules".
- - - a) Need, Greed, or Pass - "Need" only if your character needs that item. Don't "need" for alts.
- - - b) Bind On Aquire (BoA) - "Need" only if your character can use it.
- - - c) If there are non-kin people in group, have everyone agree on loot rules right at the beginning.
- - - d) If you have more people wanting to group than you have room for, kin always come first.

-Fourth, we will not tolerate node stealing, mob stealing, or ninja looting. You will be warned the first time and removed from the Kinship if the problem continues.

Kinship Hall / Kinship Auctions / Offered Items

- Kinship Hall, All Members, and Officers have access to everything in the Kin Hall - Recruits do not. This is to avoid a new recruit whose intention is to steal everything and sell it.
- - - a) Anything in the chests is free for all, but be responsible - please take it if you can use it, but taking it to sell it will result in being put back to recruit, or kicked.
- - - b) If you have items you want to give away just pop it into the kin chests, drop them in the kin chat window to see if anyone wants them, or put them in the AH as a kinship auction.
- - - c) Kinship auction is for members only. Items posted on the Kinship AH are not for resale.
- - - d) Acquiring items offered by kinship members and selling them for profit is prohibited.

Kin Points and Kin Vault

- All members of any rank can earn Kin Points by selling items for our fake money called Kin points. Just mail the items to Puk, and I will respond with a value in Kin points that I track in a spreadsheet. * no cheap items please - only things worth around 100 silver or above. In your mail, make it clear if it is for donation, or for Kin Points.
- - - a) Members and Officers can cash in Kin Points for Kin Vault items, but Recruits requests will be considered on an individual basis.
- - - b) Same rules as chests, you must be able to use the item, and not sell it. If there is more than one request for the same item, the first request gets it, but only if they are the right level for the item. In other words a lvl 40 item can not be requested by a lvl 20 or 30 character.

Recruitment

-People recruited in the game must post an application on the website and wait during an evaluation phase before they are promoted to full member. We encourage recruits to be active in the kinship to get to know us and let us get to know them to ensure it is a right fit.
- This period may last up to 30 days depending on the conduct of the individual. Any offenses that occur will prolong the evaluation period. Recruits displaying conduct not conducive to the policies, goals, or values of the kinship will be quickly dismissed.

Membership Removal

- Poor conduct. Members who are disrespecting to others, display greediness, undermine the values of the kinship or shame our kinship name are subject to immediate removal. Each situation will be reviewed by the officers on a case by case basis.
- Inactivity. Due to the nature of Lord of the Rings Online and lifetime memberships The Crescent Order is very conservative when it comes to inactive members. If a member has been absent for an excessive period of time (over 100 days)
, he/she may be subject to removal from the kinship. If you know you will be taking an extended leave of absence, please contact an officer in advance or leave a notice on the forums. Any member in good standing that was removed due to inactivity can be re-invited upon returning to the game.
